Rachel and Psalmuel's class picture, kids are from different levels...ranging from Preschool to 2nd Grade. The moms had a grand time with their own group picture taken too. First day also for practicing Jingle Bell Rock dance and star-mobile making for arts and crafts.

To Costco To Costco

My family is so blessed with wonderful friends. We thank God for Peter and Kyoko and their wonderful kids Jonathan and Joshua. Aside from their homeschool classmates, our kids have friends in JonJon and Joshua and at times shopping dates with their moms and dads. This is one of those days when we go as two families to do shopping at Costco. The long drive is an opportunity for them to play too and the drive back home is for sleeping. Usually in these Costco days, none of the kids would want to go home, they just want to stay with each other. Rachel and Joshua usually cry when they part. Rachel is Joshua's big sister and Joshua being the youngest among the 4 of them is always the baby in Rachel's eyes.

House of David

Thank you God for the technology that we now have. Even if we're not from Oklahoma, we could actually join the services of the House of David through video streaming. Rabbi Curt Landry from House of David is one of the few who teaches about the One New Man, Jew and Gentile together. We are looking forward to watching the Covenant series and the mystery of the tallit. We hope to receive them in the mail next week. http://www.houseofdavid.us

Simple Hi-Tech I like in Japan

Aside from the speed and the handsome look of trains in Japan, particularly the Shinkansen...I am so amazed of their interior, gadgets inside. Regular trains have lcd monitors that shows infomercials. They change from Japanese to English, it shows where the train is at a particular moment (red square) as well as all the stations that will be covered by the train, that way you know how many more stops before your station. My daughter loves going to the washroom, she had to guess which one is soap, water and dryer.

Life in Higashikurume

One of the joys of homeschooling is the opportunity to appreciate your surrounding. My kids have the privilege of watching fish and ducks by the river behind our house. This is a long-river that stretches like Alabang-Zapote Road (for those who are from the south part of Manila). You would be so amazed that a river like this in a city is super clean, kids swim here during summer and fishing is done all year round. It has a good bicycle and walk paths on both sides of the river. There are also vegetable farms near our place. Some farmers would set up a table with their produce, a box or a bowl for payment, these vegetable booths are unmanned, buying, paying and getting change is on honesty system...how ironic to think that most Japanese are not even Christians but they are Christian-like in their ways.
